Reduce Stress & Improve Performance For Golfers

I love working with golfers and using lots of the creative tools that help improve performance and decrease pain. In this video, I chat with NZ Golf Physiotherapist, Bryce Hamer from Bay Physiotherapy Centre in Tauranga, about some of the tools we both use to help our top and upcoming golfers improve swing performance, help deal with anxiety on the course and increase their stability and function.

Some of the topics we discuss are:

– How posture and gravity muscles impact performance and what you can do to improve.

– Shoulder stability for golf including the muscles that should be used and ones that take over.

– Learn how golfers us Gravity Fit System and the research by Dr Carolyn Richardson.

– Learn how the diaphragm, thoracic core and lumbar core all connect together and can throw off your centre of gravity.

– Fatigue during performance on and off the golf course.

– Learn the right steps to get your breathing on track for improving golf performance. Get your breathing your habit right first then strengthen the diaphragm.

– Great tools like Power Breathe can be used to strengthen core and increase ability to manage stress and improve function. – How walking can impact your performance and links with the fatigue on the golf course.

– Learning to feel the feel. Mindfulness and awareness when playing golf.
