Emma has helped thousands of stressed-out, sick and overwhelmed people bring back the calm in their life. Through The Breath Effect, she can help you reset your life by resetting your health. Through Emma’s work as a clinical physiotherapist, professional development coach and stress expert, as well as her own life experiences, she has created a formula for release and transformation.
She understands your breathing and the way your body reacts to outside influences is a window into the disconnection between your body, mind and emotions. The strategies and tools she uses are designed to help you make the physical and emotional shifts you need to avoid reaching breaking point and instead achieve joy, success and wellbeing.
Emma knows first-hand the impact of illness, overwhelm and stress on the body. Her mission is to help you shift out of constant thinking and stress and discover the profound wisdom you have within.
Sarsha is a deeply practised, experienced facilitator & teacher of movement therapies. She has explored embodied movement & dance for over 30 years and has taught nationally and internationally for 20. As a wellness expert, Sarsha is passionate about creating balance and harmony for body, mind, heart and soul. She encourages people to lean into all these different aspects of self with compassion, openness and laughter in a grounded, empathetic way. As well as being the founder of Hope Wellness, Queenstown and New Plymouth Ecstatic Dance, she runs workshops, retreats and teacher training throughout New Zealand and the world.
Her teachings fluidly blend her wealth of experience from embodied flow, yoga, tantra & mindset coaching to create a truly unique offering that helps her students create transformative breakthroughs that make more harmony, peace, presence and truth in their lives. She continues to study the fields of embodiment, belief systems and the power of free movement to transform and create a more profound sense of wholeness.

If a site has an unscheduled closing, we improvise to include something equally as wonderful and interesting. The quality of the trip is never at risk, as our hosts at The Headwaters are committed to excellence, along with their vast connections all over the island.

While we know the unforeseen can happen in life, for us to be able to secure your place and create a fantastic experience, the $1000NZD deposit is non-refundable.
Every guest is required to have travel insurance for their time on retreat.

The Headwaters has an award-winning chefs that can cater for your nutritional requirements. The food on retreat is gluten free and has vegan and dairy free options. We will ask you about your nutritional needs on the intake form we send you once your deposit has been paid.
All our sessions are suitable for people of all levels of experience. Breathing is a base for yoga which Sarsha has taught for several decades. Sarsha is an experienced teacher that will work with you at whatever your level making you feel safe and supported.
Emma is a trained breathwork coach alongside a physiotherapist and can help you find the right tools to shift out of fear and reactivity and find calm. Breathwork is for everyone and Emma works first to reset your body to calm restorative breathing before we shift it into more energetic techniques. She shares the science behind breathing and stress so you are in control.
Our combined wealth of knowledge has worked with thousands of women of all ages and backgrounds to help guide them into rejuvenated peace and joy.
We will help safely support you with any injuries that you may have. Emma is a clinical physiotherapist who has worked with men and women for almost two decades in her private practice.
To help us understand how we can support any injuries while on retreat, we send out an intake form upon registration to each of our guests that will ask for your health information. We also can adapt the experience when you are there.
Rest is encouraged, so if you need to sleep or do something more gentle, we will help you listen to what your body needs.

We strongly recommend that you have travel insurance in case any last minute emergencies arise and you can not make the retreat. It is always fun to travel with a girlfriend, and on our retreats, our guests often come on their own and leave with lifelong friends. All the rooms at The Headwaters Eco retreat have been designed to be spacious enough to share with a girlfriend or a soon-to-be girlfriend.
And, of course, gorgeous single occupancy is also available for your Glenorchy experience. We have a limited number of each single, double and bunk rooms so get in fast so you get your preference. If you book a double occupancy and are coming by yourself, we will match you with another guest to share.
